GOD'S HANDS, GOD'S PURPOSE, GOD'S OUTCOME!
As we await the election results, it's essential to remember that South Africa is in God's hands! The Bible reminds us that God is sovereign over nations and governments, and He puts leaders in power to fulfill His ordained purpose. In this post, we'll explore these truths and encourage you to trust in God's sovereignty over our nation.
God's Hands
Psalm 22:28 declares, "The kingdom is the Lord's, and He rules over the nations."
This verse reminds us that God is the ultimate authority, and He has dominion over all nations, including South Africa.
Proverbs 21:1 adds, "The king's heart is a stream of water in the hand of the Lord; He turns it wherever He will."
This verse illustrates God's control over leaders, guiding them according to His will. As we trust in God's hands, we can rest assured that He is working everything out for our good.
Example: The story of Joseph in Genesis 37-47 shows how God's hands were at work, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery, but God used this to position Joseph to become a leader in Egypt, saving many lives during a famine.
God's Purpose
Romans 13:1 reminds us that "there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God."
This means God puts governments in power to fulfill His ordained purpose! Whether we agree with the outcome or not, we must trust that God has a plan for our nation. His purpose is always good, even when we don't understand the outcome.
Example: The story of Esther in the book of Esther shows how God's purpose was at work, even when it seemed like evil would prevail. Esther, a Jewish woman, became queen of Persia and was used by God to save the Jewish people from destruction.
God's Outcome
Psalm 33:10-11 encourages us, "The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; He frustrates the plans of the peoples. The counsel of the Lord stands forever, the plans of His heart to all generations."
This passage reminds us that God's plans supersede human plans, and His outcome is always the best for His people. As we trust in God's outcome, we can have confidence that He is working everything out for our good.
Example: The story of David and Goliath in 1 Samuel 17 shows how God's outcome was victorious, even when the odds seemed impossible. David, a young shepherd, trusted in God and defeated the giant Goliath, leading to a great victory for Israel.
The Sovereignty of God
God's sovereignty is the biblical teaching that God is in complete control of all things, including our voting and the outcome of elections. Whether we voted or not, God would use our actions or inactions to accomplish His will. This truth is comforting, as it reminds us that God is always in control, even when we don't understand the outcome.
Example: The story of Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel 4 shows how God's sovereignty was at work, even in the life of a pagan king. Nebuchadnezzar was humbled by God and came to recognize His sovereignty over all nations.
A Call to Salvation
I urge all South Africans, from all walks of life, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds, to call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Jesus Christ is the only way to eternal life, and He is the One who can bring true hope and transformation to our nation. As we face numerous challenges, including:
- High rates of crime and violence
- Unemployment and economic inequality
- Political instability and corruption
- Social injustice and racial tensions
- Moral decay and family breakdown
We desperately need a Saviour who can bring healing, unity, and restoration to our beloved country. Romans 10:13 says, "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." We pray that many will come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and that our nation will be transformed by the power of the gospel.
In the midst of these trying times, calling on the name of the Lord becomes a necessity. We need His guidance, protection, and grace to navigate the complexities of our society. By turning to Jesus, we can find hope, comfort, and strength to face our challenges head-on. Let us come together as a nation and cry out to God for salvation, revival, and transformation. May His love and grace pour down upon us, and may we be a shining example of His goodness to the world around us.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, humbled and grateful for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. We pray for our nation, South Africa, and its people, asking for your mercy and grace. May many come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, and may our nation be transformed by the power of the gospel.
We pray for unity and peace in our nation, and for your blessing upon our people. May we be a shining example of your love and grace to the world around us.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Conclusion
In these uncertain times, let's anchor our trust in God's sovereignty. May we rest in the knowledge that South Africa is in God's hands, and He is working everything out for His glory and our good. Share these encouraging truths with others, and let's pray for our nation, trusting in God's hands, purpose, and outcome!
