Self-help methods and anxiety are topics that are discussed a lot. When it comes to anxiety, it may seem as though you can help yourself, but in actuality, you cannot.
Numerous people, including gurus, therapists, support groups, and many others, offer self-help advice. Although this might in some way provide some relief, it must be stated that we need more than relief; instead, we must find a fixed and long-term solution.
A CLEAR INDICATION THAT THE SELF-HELP PRACTICES ARE NOT HELPING IS THAT ANXIETY IS INCREASING AROUND YOU.
If you're reading this note, it's possible that you're depressed and anxious and are desperately trying to find relief. I do think there is a way out but let me first give you an explanation of why self-help techniques are not long-lasting.
Simply put, anxiety stems from a dependence on oneself due to a lack of understanding of God's promises. Self cannot correct itself because it refers to the human being's fallen and sinful nature. We are broken and unable to function at our full potential when we sin, which prevents us from being fully confident in God's promises. As a result, we are unable to help ourselves. The flesh, or self, is not required to trust God and searches for solutions within. That's because self (flesh) is cut off from God, Who is the ONLY ONE capable of keeping His promises, that's why those solutions aren't present. As a result of our inability to solve our own problems, we experience anxiety that can lead to depression. As a result, when you seek out self-help techniques from a variety of sources, what is really being offered to you is a strengthening of the self and a turning inward. Increased self-confidence and turning inward is always harmful.
The need to seek solutions from an unhelpful source is what ultimately fuels anxiety, depression, and worry.
The reader would be wise to heed the biblical advice given below if they want to find relief from all the anxiety currently plaguing the world.
A. “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.” Galatians 2:20
1. Live your life with the knowledge that Christ is within you.
2. Living by faith in God's Son is the best way to live.
3. Keep in mind that "Christ lives in me" is highlighted because only He can enable us to overcome in all situations.
4. Undoubtedly, this will make you feel less anxious.
B. “that, in reference to your former manner of life, you lay aside the old self, which is being corrupted in accordance with the lusts of deceit, and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth.” Ephesians 4:22-24
1. People with lower levels of anxiety and no signs of depression are aware of the following.
2. They know they have a former way that’s always trying to gain the upper hand.
3. They make every effort to put their former lives aside.
4. Their former life was tainted and deceived.
5. They are aware of their need for renewal of the mind.
6. They must put on their new self, which is made in God's image.
7. They possess holiness and righteousness of the truth.
C. “And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.” Luke 9:23
1. They are aware that to follow Christ, one must deny oneself.
2. The emphasis on faith in God is increased by self-denial.
3. Anxiety is diminished by faith in God.
There are numerous verses in the Bible that can help us deal with our anxiety, including Philippians 4:6-7, which instructs us to bring our requests to God in thanksgiving and ask for His peace. Psalm 121:5 and Jeremiah 29:1134 are two additional verses that exhort us to put our faith in God's care and protection. Psalm 139:23, Proverbs 12:25, and Isaiah 35:45 are a few verses that can help us analyze and get rid of our anxious thoughts.
The person who experiences anxiety, worry, or depression should shift their focus from relying on themselves to relying on God, who is able to carry out His own promises in your life, according to these verses and numerous others.
The bible says that anxiety is a normal human emotion that can be overcome by trusting in God, praying, and receiving His peace. Anxiety can weigh down the heart, but a good word, especially the good news of God's Kingdom, can cheer it up. Anxiety is not a sin, but an opportunity to lean on God and present your requests to Him with thanksgiving.
If you are seeking for sustainable and reliable help from anxiety and depression, it is found in being confident in God Who has all the solutions for all your circumstances whatever they maybe.
STOP TRUSTING SELF WHO HAS NO SOLUTIONS!
