The word rapture is a Latin word that means “a carrying off, a transport, or a snatching away.” The truth of the “carrying off” or the rapture of the church is clearly taught in Scripture.
This rapture will be an instant event that will bring about the removal of many believers in Christ from the earth. First those who have died in Christ will and thereafter those who are alive and believe Him as Lord and Saviour. 1 Corinthians 15:50–54.
The purpose of the quick removal of the Church (believers) is to open the pathway for God to bring about judgment of those who have repeatedly refused Him. The speed of the rapture will not allow for anyone to seek God repent of the sins and seek salvation. The opportunity to seek God is now.
Also, that the rapture is an instantaneous event that removes both the dead and alive in Christ will bring about instant confusion on earth as many people disappear. The world will be plunge into utter devastation at the realisation that the Church has been removed.
The rapture is the quick, instant removal of the Church which will pave the way for God to bring judgement on the earth.
