THE END Part 4 : The Judgement Seat of Christ

Bradley Wareley

In my first post on The End found here https://bradleywareley.wixsite.com/bradleywareley/post/the-end-part-1, listed the events that will take place after the Rapture. I then started to explain the rapture in Parts 2 and 3 which you can find posted previous to this one on the website.

You need to note that the Rapture of the Church sets in motion two totally different aspects to the End Times namely,

1) The Church comes before the Bema Seat of Christ in Heaven (Spirit Realm) and

2) that on earth the Tribulation is set in motion (Natural Realm).

These two will play out at the same time between the Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ to Earth. NOTE: The Rapture and the Second Coming of Jesus are separate events and have distinct differences which will be highlighted in a later post.

In this post I want to focus on where the church goes as a result of the Rapture and what happens then.

What happens then?

We already know that the Church gets Raptured, that is, instantaneously snatched or removed from the earth. The question is, where does the Church go? The answer is that Church goes into the Presence of God and our Salvation is complete. However, there the Church will have to experience the Bema Seat of Christ whilst it is newly in the Presence of God.

The Bema Seat, also known as the Judgement Seat of Christ, is where all the works of the believers in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour will be tested (Romans 14:10-12).

The bible indicates that every believer will then give an account of the lives we lived (2 Corinthians 5:10). This is important for every believer in Jesus Christ to take note of because this informs us that heaven keeps a record of our lives. Every word we speak, decision we make, place we go to, relationship we have, action we take and so much more about us is kept on record. I think we will be “blown away” by what has been recorded and even more we will have to held accountable for it before God.

Included in this evaluation of our lives at the Bema Seat will be a testing of all the work we have done during the course of our lives. Those things we have done for Him and in His Name. In 1 Corinthians 3:10-18 we are taught important lessons regarding the testing of our work at the Judgement Seat.

  1. Jesus is the Foundation. You must recognise that the Foundation on which you build your work has already been laid. Jesus is that Foundation (v11).

  2. Build with standards. You are required to build on that Foundation and according to the standards of that Foundation. (v12).

  3. Make the right choice. You have a choice throughout your lifetime regarding what type of building (works) you build on the Foundation. (v13). You can choose to build works of gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, or straw. (v13).

  4. Your works will be seen. Your works are going to be seen with clarity on the Day of the Judgement Seat. (v13).

  5. Your works will be tested by fire. Your works will be tested by fire. (v13). Works of gold, silver or precious stones will hold up in the fire and will reward those who are found with such work (v14). Works of wood, hay or straw will be destroyed by the fire and will bring a loss although the individual will be saved (v15).

  6. Works that bring Glory. NOTE: Works built of Gold, Silver or Precious Stones ALWAYS bring Glory to God while works built with wood, hay or straw brought NO Glory to God.

Please ensure that the works you do for God and in His Name is done to bring Glory to Him only!
